Koihime Musou Girls and Korean Clans which are NOT SAFE to PRONOUNCE, Part III: NHA! (나/羅)

Nha (나 or 라/羅), sometimes romanized Na, Ra, La, Lah, Rah, Nah, Lha, or Rha is a common Korean surname which means 'gauze' in Sino-Korean Language. This surname is 44th Most Common Surnames in Korean Republic. Same as Korean Surnames of Yook, Vulgar Roh, Cottage Roh, Yi and Yeo - Na is one of the Korean Surnames which followed Korean Beginning Sound Rule System a.k.a Du-eum Beopchik (두음 법칙/頭音法則).

There is only one Chinese character for the Na surname (羅). Some sources indicate that there are 46 different Na clans, but only two of them can be documented which are Geumseong Na (금성 라씨/錦城羅氏) and Naju Na (나주 나씨/羅州羅氏) clans. It is believed that these two sprang from a common founding ancestor.

The Naju Na clan’s progenitor, Na Bu (나부/羅富, not Naboo Starfighter N-1 in Star Wars Franchise) migrated from Chinese Song Dynasty sometime during the mid-seventh century and settled in the Naju area in the present-day Southern Jeolla Province. While the progenitor of Geumseong Na Clan, Na Chong-rye (나총례/羅聰禮) granted the highest position of Internal Prince Geumseong (금성부원군/錦城府院君) during the reign of King Jeongjong Wang Yo, 3rd King of Goryeo Dynasty and also settled in Naju, same as Naju Na Clansmen.

Based on the 2015 Korean Republic Census - provided by Statistics Korea (통계청/統計廳/Tonggyecheong/KOSTAT), there are 160,946 people who bear the surname of Na. The most dominant designated clan for this surname is Naju Lineage, where this lineage consists of 96,018 people. It is followed with Geumseong Lineage (51,966 people) and other lineages (12,962 people).

I played an eroge entitled Shin Koihime Eiyuutan 1 and Liu Bei a.k.a Yoo Do-hyang moaned the surname of NHA.
